Aren’t Mom’s great!

My 81 year old mom lives 4-1/2 hours away from me.  On my last visit there, I noticed that she still had the Christmas Mug Rug on her table that I made and gave her this past Christmas.  I mentioned that Christmas had come and gone, but she said she was very proud of it and it was staying on the table.

So, knowing that I was heading up again this week, I quickly put together a little Spring Mug Rug/Table Mat.  I have had this fabric in my stash for many years now and never found the right project to put it in – until now.

Well – this may not be the prettiest project that I have finished, but if you had seen the absolute joy on her face when I gave it to her, you would be just as proud of it.  She ooo’d and ahhh’d over the mat, over the fabric, over the stitches…For a few minutes, I felt the same joy that I felt in primary school when I made that “Mother’s Day” project with popsicle sticks…

Happy Spring Mom … 🙂 (Just so you know, the Christmas one has now been put away until next Christmas!)
