WIP Wednesday …

I have been very tardy lately with my {Modern} Robin.  My partner, Twinkle Toes UK, has been very patient with me.

Perhaps I should explain what the Round Robin is.  My partner and I each made a block, then sent it to each other.  We were then charged to add a border…it went back to the owners and another border was added and now is the last border round.  I have been distracted with life lately and am VERY late with this last border.

Twinkle Toes has done a marvelous job with her block & borders that I’ve been a little intimidated.  I certainly want to make her proud of my final addition.  Well, I hung her ‘quilt – in – progress’ up in my sewing room for inspiration and really, I was stumped.  I wanted to enhance what was there and not over-power it….This is what she sent in the last go round:

Actually I added that last border of purple polka dots…..but suddenly I was inspired – the center motif reminds me of something in outer space….what better than stars!  So I made several stars with the fabrics that are already in the top.  I know Twinkle Toes likes purple…so all the star points are purple.

Next step will be adding the stars and a finishing border….I’ll post the pictures as soon as I get that far. Sorry, partner – another delay. My guild’s quilt show is this weekend, but after that I promise – your quilt will be completed…..

Thanks for your patience 🙂

Just in case you are interested, here is my top that Twinkle Toes has been working on…I can’t wait to see what she has added.  {This is just SO exciting!!!}
