WIP Wednesday

I am very pleased to say that I have a project that I have made progress on!

I put together all the paper-piecing blocks from the Sew Out Loud {Quilters’ Word Play} QAL!  I couldn’t decide how to put them together and finally decided on a very traditional setting – 4 rows of 3 blocks each with sashing and corner pieces.  This would let the individual blocks shine!  After all, I worked so hard on them.

The next hurdle was to decide on a colour for the sashing and whether or not to make the corners the same or contrasting.  This is usually not such a difficult decision, but I was blocked on this one.   After much auditioning of various fabrics and colours, I chose a very neutral medium dark grey for the sashing and then used leftovers from the Circa 1934 line for the corners.  I love, love, LOVE the little polka dots!!!  I really like how it turned out.  What do you think?

I am just so pleased!

The next decision is how to quilt it – I have a few ideas and will show you when I am finished….now head on over to Lee & Freshly Pieced and see what everyone else has been up to…
