One thing, one week challenge

Since I have been away on vacation, I have not really been doing much quilting/crafting.  However, we are back and I am very pleased to say that I have a finish!  Yay 🙂

I took a small project with me to hand quilt in quiet moments…and I did make some progress, but there were so many other exciting things to keep us occupied.  That being said, I finished it yesterday!  The pattern is called “Tourmaline” and I made it up from a couple of packs of charm square in “Vintage Modern” and Bella Solids, “Snow”.  It is backed with a Michael Millers turquoise snowflake fabric (sorry, I don’t remember the name); the colour was perfect.  I had a few left over blocks, so I pieced them together into the back and added a diagonal strip of ‘Snow’ to add interest.  It has been hand quilted with a varegated Aurofil thread, also in turquoise.

It is approx. 37″ x 29.5″ and would make a great baby quilt; doll quilt  or play mat.  Possibly even a small lap quilt to keep you and your toes toasty while watching a movie or sipping wine/hot chocolate in front of a fireplace, or while reading your favourite new book.

I haven’t yet decided if it will be gifted or sold in my ‘Etsy’ shop…either way, I am happy to say that I have been home for one week and I have completed one thing! 🙂  Life is good.
