We have a lot of company out here in “the county” of late. One of my daughters came for a weekend and we indulged in lots of “maple syrup” delights … As well as wine and vodka tasting. Then for Easter, my aunt and uncle arrived for the weekend. Again, a wonderful time was had by all. Lots of good food, good times and laughter! 🙂
However, all that being said, I didn’t really get a lot of time to sew. This past weekend was more quiet so I’m back in my sewing room. I am back at working on my Crayon Box quilt. I have bought some very variegated yarn in primary colors. I have decided to quilt in a pattern similar to pebbles in a pond. I think that goes well with the linear design of the pattern.
This quilt was made up of a jelly roll. This was a roll of Moda’s Brights. I loved how they looked on the roll, so I just put them together as they came off the roll. After squaring it up, I cut a piece out and turned it around for visual interest. It is outlined in Kona Ash and the binding is of Kona Charcoal with bits of offcuts in the binding.
I am so very happy with this project….I managed to finish this project this week, so it is technically not still in progress.
Here’s some photos (please excuse the light, it has been quite dreary here the past few days):
I haven’t made any progress on my other projects…
- Swedish Stars, no progress
- Christmas in July QAL, no progress
Would’ve you been up to?
Now, head on over to Lee’s Freshly Pieced and see what everyone else is up to.
Until next time, Connie
