Week of Gratitude – Monday

Last week when I said I would participate, this isn’t exactly what I had in mind. I spent a little time in the hospital where they informed me that I have kidney stones. I will have to wait and let nature takes it course and pass them. They were very helpful and gave me lots of drugs to deal with the ‘discomfort’. We’ll let me tell you…this so called discomfort was very interesting. It makes those long hours in labor & delivery seem like a cake walk.

So here is my first gratitude; I am grateful for my hubby. He stayed with me, even when I was pretty grumpy, and brought me meals, water and anything else I needed. He fielded phone calls, though well meaning, I just didn’t have it in me to speak to anyone. He doesn’t like his picture taken, so I will respect his wishes here.

Here is my second gratitude of the day:

While laying on my sofa, in pain and feeling very sorry for myself, God smiled on my face. He let me know that He was there, looking out for me. Isn’t that a pretty sight out my window?

I’m also grateful for our local hospital, the wonderful staff there, and last but not least, the great drugs we have readily available.

I am doing a little better. I think the stones have passed. I need a few tests to make sure. I certainly feel like I’ve gone a few rounds with Mohamed Ali. Now I think I’ll have a nap. This has been exhausting.

If you feel up to it, checkout Michelle’s site for other examples of gratitude.

Thanks for visiting.
