Welcome winter

Though we have had quite a bit of snow and cold weather already, the calendar tells me that today is the first day of winter; the winter solstice. It is the shortest day or the longest night, however you prefer to view it.

Here in Eastern Ontario, Prince Edward County to be exact, we are under a ‘weather warning’ of freezing rain and dangerous driving conditions. I awoke to a thick layer of ice on everything…but to share with all of you, I risked life and limb for a few shots before my common sense told me to get back inside.

So before I loose electricity from possible downed trees and hydro lines…here are a few of the very pretty sights in my front yard…

Just a little ice on the car...
Just a little ice on the car…
completely encapsulated in ice
completely encapsulated in ice
Pretty but icy
Pretty but icy
seeds
seeds
so pretty
so pretty

If you are in my neck of the woods, drive safely or just don’t go out {holiday movies and hot chocolate are in my near future}.

Until next time, Connie 🙂
