Icy Shores…

If you have been following the weather news for North America, you know we have been experiencing a brutal winter….we have been spoiled with light winters in recent years.  This one reminds me of the winters of my childhood!

But with the cold and snow, comes beauty.  My photo club’s challenge for February is “Icy Shores”.  Here are my contributions.  It was difficult to find days that were not completely white!  White snow, white sky, white water….but I got lucky on our Family Day weekend.  Enjoy! 🙂

This is the beach in Wellington, Ontario. It almost looks like a lunar landscape.

It wasn’t all that cold on this particular day…but the wind sure was wicked!

The sun was trying so hard to peek through…

Some interesting weather was on the way.

The view from the lighthouse… the back side of the frozen waves on the beach.

Lots and lots of ice

Docks on West Lake. Lots of swans & ducks.

The next day was just as cold, but the sun came out. It was a glorious day for a hike at Sandbanks Provincial Park and great photo opportunity at the old Lakeshore Lodge.

The sign says, “Caution: Unstable Shoreline; no entry beyond this point!”

This is the view looking down…The wind causes lots of interesting shapes.

Baby ice bergs!

That’s it for now.  Thank you for coming along.

Until next time, Connie 🙂
