Quilting again…

I know some of you will wonder “what’s happening here!” Two posts on the same day….let me explain. I’ve been recouperating from a nasty attack of kidney stones (not fun 😣). Today is the first day that I feel almost human again…and felt a little sewing would be just the ticket.

My stepdaughter is having her first child at the end if this year. I am making a quilt for the newest addition to our family. I know she does not follow my blog, so feel safe in showing it off here.
IMG_1893.JPG For the top, I pulled out some pink and purple fabrics and matched them with whites and yellows. I made up some large half-square triangles and arranged them in a chevron pattern. I’m quite pleased with the result.

IMG_1891.JPGFor the back, I used another purple for the centre, then added the unused scraps left over from the front, in a large log-cabin style block.

Next step will be quilting…and I’ve saved a cute matching striped fabric for the binding. The fabric is a cosy flannel, making it so cuddly & soft. And it will be perfect for our cold weather.

The baby is a little girl (they couldn’t wait to see). I couldn’t be more excited, no matter if it was going to be a boy or girl; this will be my third grandchild. Many years ago, my stepdaughter thought she would like to learn how to quilt. During that time, she purchased a bundle of baby flannel from Moda. When she decided that quilting wasn’t for her, she gave me the flannel. I saved for just this occasion.

I hope to get to quilting it later this week…stay tuned for updates.

Thanks for following. As always, I look forward to your comments.

Until next time, Connie 😃
