Welcome back. This week’s prompt is “one woman I love”. That is simple…my mom.
My mom is 84 years old. She is battling cancer for the third time. She has been through so much in her lifetime, and always seems to find something to smile about.
She lived through World War II; married, had me, divorced & left Europe to immigrate to Canada; remarried and then became a young widow, raised three children and for the last several years is battling cancer. She still walks anywhere from 5 to 9 kilometres a day!
I know that is simplified, but she would be horrified to know that I am ‘airing personal history’ in such a public forum. Suffice it to say, she is my hero!
This photo is my favourite…obviously I didn’t take it as I am the baby in the picture.
This is us last year…the most recent I have as she is now refusing to sit for photos. (taken by my hubby)
Thanks for visiting…until next time, Connie 🙂
what a strong, brave and loving mama you have. Thank you for sharing a piece of your history. And I know you cherish each moment you have with your mom, what an amazing and strong woman to be on her third battle with cancer. I watched my very strong grandpa also fight cancer several times, it’s not easy to watch your loved ones battle so hard and be in such pain. hugs.
Wonderful story, Connie. Thank you for sharing.
