52 Photos Project #6 “spice”

Welcome to week six of Bella’s 52 Photos Project.  This week’s prompt is “spice”.

My hubby & I love to cook.  We make many things from scratch; meaning we bake bread, make our own pasta, and cook from basic ingredients.  We don’t use too many already prepared ingredients.  We love going to the local farm stands…and are lucky to have so many near us.  We even try to grow our own, but have a constant battle with the local rabbit population 😉

Hubby LOVES to barbecue!  We finally came up with a spice rub that makes us both happy.  Sorry, I can’t divulge all the ingredients, but the one thing that makes this dish extra special is smoked paprika…and this one is hot!  It doesn’t take much to add lots of flavour as well as heat, but not so much that you can’t taste the food.

Do you like your food spicy?  Or do you think of something completely different when you hear the word spice?

You can check out what others have come up with on Flickr, Google+ or on Instagram #52photosproject or follow me @basildonkitchens.

Thanks for visiting, until next time, Connie 🙂

I am living my dream life in the country! I love photography, travelling, cooking, baking and I even try my hand at quilting.

    1. I love it – it is a nice smoky flavour, like adding chipotle peppers, You can also get the not hot one and just add the flavour…this one is very hot and only a pinch goes a long way! 🙂
