Gratitude Week: Wednesday

This week I am joining Michelle’s annual Gratitude Week 2015.

Today Michelle asks:

Can you think of something you might have taken for granted lately? Can you see some greatness in it?

While we all like nice weather, warm & sunny days, we all need a little rain sometime. When I lived in the city, I took water running from the tap for granted. Since moving to a rural home, one with my own well, I actually look forward to the rain. We need the rain to keep the water tables up; which in turn, ensure we have water in the well. During the summer months, we have to keep a close eye on the water level, as well as monitor our usage. That is not a bad thing, but it certainly makes you very aware.

So today’s photo is of a day last week. The sun was just rising, catching the tree-tops in its first blazing light…but the rain clouds are not too far behind. We had a really good soaking…the first in a long time and our little creek, that has been dry since last May, is now running. I thought I heard the earth sigh with relief; for the rain quenching its thirst.

Today I am grateful for:

  • more rain;
  • running water;
  • a warm, dry home to return to each evening; and
  • a hot cup of coffee (to take off that chill)

What are you grateful for today?

Until next time, Connie 🙂
