This week I am joining Michelle’s annual Gratitude Week 2015.
Today Michelle asks:
Think about the routines and rhythms of your life right now. Can you feel contentment/appreciation/joy for those routines? (this isn’t always easy, I know) See what kind of silver linings you can find today. If joy feels too big/too hard/too much, can you look instead for a bit of ease, a mere sliver of contentment? That’s good too. Celebrate that.
The biggest routine for me, right now, is work. My commute is an hour long, so I am up really early. This time of year it is still dark. Though it is difficult to climb out of my warm, cozy bed, I love the early morning quiet, and watching the world wake up. How the daylight slowly arrives…like a big stretch after a good night’s sleep.
Today I am grateful for:
- a cozy, warm bed to sleep in;
- my quiet, gentle start to the day;
- a job to go to; and
- a hot cup of coffee before I start my work day
