Welcome back. Today I’m linking to Norm 2.0 Thursday Doors feature.
I love Charleston, SC. We have been there on holiday, several times. I particularly love the historic district. The houses are magnificent, but today I’m going to concentrate on ‘gates’ rather than ‘doors’.
This is one of my favourites…the shape, the greenery and the elusive peek into the garden is so enticing.
Here is a lovely pair of gates, one for the car and the other for foot traffic.
Another gate…this one allowing a peak to the typical ‘single’ house of the area. They are built to take the best advantage of the breezes during hot & humid weather. It is common to see very little from street. The door from the sidewalk takes you to the welcoming porch, from which you would enter the main door to the house.
Do you like doors? You too, can join Thursday Doors; click on the link, to connect to Norm’s site, and follow the directions. You will see lots, and lots of doors…
Thanks for visiting…until next time, Connie 🙂
