Gratitude Week 2016 – Tuesday

Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today,
and creates a vision for tomorrow.
~Melody Beattie~

Consider gratitudes that rest in your past. Consider those that fill you now. Imagine the ones yet to come. Step gently in all directions today.

Past: I am so grateful for the lessons learned from my mom. I am so grateful for a life time of memories. She recently passed away and the hurt is still so new…however, I hear her advice & lessons in my head all the time. She taught me to cook & take care of myself. She taught me to sew & knit and even tried to teach me gardening. She taught me to be self sufficient & to stand up for myself. She also taught me to laugh, especially in the face of difficult times.

Now: I am grateful for my husband. He is my best friend. He constantly lets me know: “I have your back!” He supports me. He lets me lean on him. He is my rock. and best of all, he makes me laugh!

Future: I am grateful for my children – they are the future with their children and their children’s children. The circle continues…a little of our past continues on long into the future, as I pass my lesson’s learned on to them and the tradition continues.

How about you?  What are you grateful for today?

Thank you for visiting, until next time, Connie🙂

I am living my dream life in the country! I love photography, travelling, cooking, baking and I even try my hand at quilting.

  1. I’m so sorry to read about your mom. That’s such a huge loss, isn’t it. I’m glad, though, that she and you had a connection and you have good memories. Though I know memories are not what you want right now…you want her. Hugs.
