Some people are always grumbling because roses have thorns;
I am thankful that thorns have roses.
As you consider gratitude today, think about something that bothers you, irks you, ticks you off. Pause. Can you think of one thing (just one) (but maybe more) that’s actually good about this particular thing? Does it stretch you in some way? Can you accept the thorns in order to celebrate the rose?
Today’s Gratitude: Michelle talks about embracing the shorter days & cooler weather…I love all of the seasons, but am not especially fond of the extreme cold of our Canadian winters. It comes with a whole set of problems…driving in particular. Slippery roads, cold morning starts, and so many layers of clothing….brrrr…
But here is the rose to my thorns…I love how pretty my immediate world is; covered in that frosting of snow. (archive from last winter)
Even the ‘dreaded’ freezing rain – though treacherous to drive & walk, makes the world look like it is made of crystal…and when the sun shines on it…just plain ‘wow’. (archive from last winter)
I still may dislike many aspects of the cold winter…there is still a lot to love and be grateful for.
How about you? What are you grateful for today?
Thank you for visiting, until next time, Connie
