Welcome to this week’s edition of my photo-a-day challenge.
The weather here in South-Eastern Ontario has been very changeable this week. We had snow early in the week, freezing rain in between and ending with rain and unseasonably warm weather to finish.
I hope all my American friends had a fabulous Thanksgiving, and everyone is getting excited for the festive season ahead.
Now on to this week’s photos:
November 20 – self portrait; the dreaded ‘self-portrait’! Why is it that many (or probably most) of us do not like our own photo. This year’s challenge has been one self portrait a month, and it is not getting any easier…at least not for me. This was while I was looking through recipes to get ready for the week ahead.
November 21 – my grocery list; at the office, I keep an ongoing group of lists on electronic ‘post-it’ notes on my desk top.
November 22 – negative space; this poor little weed was sticking out of the snow drift at the front of our house. A night of wind & snow left quite a significant drift. Thankfully, by the time I was writing this post, it had all but melted.
November 23 – on my table; with the falling snow, I thought it was time for my cooking snow lady to come out & sit on my table. This is a Jim Shore figurine called “Winter’s Comfort”
November 24 – homemade; a wonderful bowl of homemade comfort on a damp & dreary day … hubby’s special chicken noodle soup.
November 25 – leftovers; this is a quilt I made for my husband. He had several old, worn, but still favourite shirts that he couldn’t seem to toss. I cut them up and made a quilt for him. Because the shirts were so old and worn, it is the softest quilt we have, made even more cosy with a flannel backing. Now he still has all those shirts & memories that came with them.
November 26 – framing; the trees make a lovely frame for this shot of a rain storm in the distance over Ke’e Beach at the foot of the Kalalau Trail on the Na Pali Coast of Kaua’i.
