August/September 2017 – week 35

Welcome back to this year’s photo-a-day journey. I’m sharing little bits of my daily life & travels.

This week’s weather has been surprisingly cool! (I left home for work one morning at 6C! eek!) Though I love autumn & cooler weather, I’m not quite ready for this significant drop in temperatures.  I sure hope that it rebounds to something a little more seasonable soon.

Now onto this week’s photos:

August 27 – my beautiful African violet; the blooms on this plant are incredible, even more so as I have never been able to keep one alive for more than a few months. These were my mother’s favourites. She even received ribbons for them at the fair!

August 28 – late summer afternoon; I love bright blue skies, fluffy clouds and the lush green of late summer. This is the view across the road from our house.

August 29 – signs of autumn; golden rod is starting to bloom everywhere – a definite sign of autumn.

August 30 – Lake on the Mountain; a beautiful afternoon spent wandering the shores of Lake on the Mountain.

August 31 – corn blooms; …mean corn on the cob & corn roasts.

August 2017 – at a glance; another month complete – where does the time go!

September 1 – bee heaven; a great visit to a sunflower field! The bees were in heaven; the buzzing was everywhere 🙂

September 2 – sailing on South Bay; the view from Waupoos Winery’s dock!

As always, I thank you for visiting. Feel free to join in on Instagram, #ciuan365 or #nothingisordinary or you can just follow me @BasildonKitchens.

Until next time, Connie 🙂

I am living my dream life in the country! I love photography, travelling, cooking, baking and I even try my hand at quilting.

    1. Thank you so much – I usually go on at least one photo walk/hike over the weekend and take lots of photos which I keep in case I don’t find the opportunity to take one each day. I try to keep my camera handy, but always have my iPhone available! 🙂 It’s not has hard as you think. I don’t like daily prompts, just taking what I see in my travels…give it a try! And there are no photo police if you miss a day or two.
