Welcome back to this year’s photo-a-day journey. I’m sharing little bits of my daily life & travels.
This week we have been on vacation. We are on the Gulf Coast of Florida and the weather has been great! Hot & humid…just what you want on vacation!
Now onto this week’s photos:
September 17 – a well deserved glass of wine; after a very early morning & a day of traveling, we got to sit on the balcony and enjoy a glass of wine & glorious sunset over the Gulf of Mexico.
September 18 – peaceful beach; I love walking on the beach! This particular morning, we have the beach to ourselves!
September 19 – blue sky, palm trees & blooming oleander; a perfect vacation morning. This is the view poolside as we have a cool dip to start our day.
September 20 – shopping, Florida style! I love the tropical feel of this shopping centre.
September 21 – sunset walk; after morning walks on the beach, my second favourite is a sunset walk on the beach. The views are amazing! Here I caught a sandpiper in the golden glow of the setting sun.
September 22 – a perfect start to the day! Coffee & Florida orange juice on the balcony overlooking the Gulf of Mexico – after a leisurely stroll on the beach looking for seashells.
September 23 – rainbows & thunderstorms; this area is famous for thunderstorms. They come up quickly & disappear just as fast.
Note: Hurricane Irma blew through Florida only a week ago. We are lucky enough to be visiting the Gulf Coast, an area that missed the worst of the damage, though you can see it everywhere while driving around. Other parts of the state, and the Caribbean, were not so lucky. As we are enjoying ourselves, many others are still in dire situations with lots of flooding & property damage, no power, and supplies (i.e. gasoline, food & water) having a hard time getting through to those who need it. There are many organizations taking donations for food, medical needs, & building materials, if you feel so inclined.
As always, I thank you for visiting. Feel free to join in on Instagram, #ciuan365 or #nothingisordinary or you can just follow me @BasildonKitchens.
Until next time, Connie 🙂
