October/November 2017 – Week 44

Welcome back to this year’s photo-a-day journey. I’m sharing little bits of my daily life & travels.

This week’s weather still continues as typical autumn weather; rain, wind & a bit of sun too! It’s dark in the morning now when I get up and the sun is setting as I arrive home. This week we had more morning frost…and it is getting just a little cooler each day.

Now onto this week’s photos:

October 29 – another gorgeous sunset; beautiful autumn reflections of sunset in the pond. I pass this place every day on my way to and from work. I love how it changes with the seasons.

October 30 – a carpet of fallen leaves; the view from my living room window. You can see there are still LOTS of leaves to come down, much to my hubby’s chagrin!

October 31 – just blowing in the wind; milkweed that has gone to seed are one of my favourite sights.  The fluff is so light & delicate, and just floats in the breeze! The sun picks up all the fibres…so pretty.

October 2017 – at a glance! And just like that…another month is done.

November 1 – roadside beauty; colours may be more muted this time of year, but that doesn’t detract from the beauty.

November 2 – textures; an ivy covered barn & shadows showing off in the late afternoon light.

November 3 – a final splash of colour; the vibrant reds of the sumac always catch my eye.

November 4 – over the back fence; a final display of colour, these photos will have to suffice when all is covered in a carpet of white…it is coming!!

  1. I like the hashtag you use ‘nothing is ordinary’. Your photos prove that the everyday sights we have around us are beautiful.
As fall progresses into November, things start to fade and decay. It looks tired, like nature is now ready for a rest after the big display in October. Your photo from Nov 1st shows that so well. The muted browns are still so striking in their simplicity.

    1. Thank you, Joanne. November is always so dreary….like you say, Mother Nature is exhausted from October’s performance. November is also a big challenge for me….bleak, short days make it even harder…but finding things of beauty push me out of that funk, if you know what I mean 😉

  2. Connie, one of the things I have loved about following you is that I have watched your growth as a photographer. Each year your pictures are more beautiful than the year before! I love the moodiness of the autumn shot of the barbed wire fence. It’s wonderful. xx
