Welcome back to this year’s photo-a-day journey. I’m sharing little bits of my daily life & travels.
This week’s weather has been grey & quite cool, though not as cold as last week. The days are getting shorter & shorter…the sun has already slipped below the horizon before I leave the office. I’m going to work in the dark and coming home in the dark as well.
Now onto this week’s photos:
November 19 – first snow; it is actually pretty early in the season for snow. There was only a dusting and it didn’t last, but I rushed outside in my house coat to take this photo. First snow is always a treat…
November 20 – leaves on the porch; taken just as I was rushing out of the house for an appointment – I loved how the wind blew them into the interesting formation.
November 21 – home is where you make it; this bulbous section on a weed stalk is created by the larvae of some little insect and is where it grows to adulthood. I seem to remember dissecting one in grade school (a thousand years ago, of course), and being quite disappointed by finding it empty.
November 22 – soft hues of sunrise; the wonderful part of being up & out of the house early in the morning before the sun is up is that I get to see all manner of sunrises. This particular morning the colours were soft and delicate.
November 23 – sunrise reflections; another early morning…and I captured the sun just peaking above the horizon and being reflected in the old hangar windows at the local airport.
November 24 – abandoned; another early morning photo opportunity at ‘Camp Picton’, the old army base near my home. I captured the warm glow of the sunrise on this old abandoned building.
November 25 – drive shed; one of the many buildings at MacAuley conservation area. I just love the weathered cedar siding, don’t you?
As always, I thank you for visiting. Feel free to join in on Instagram, #ciuan365 or #nothingisordinary or you can just follow me @BasildonKitchens.
Until next time, Connie 🙂
