February/March 2018 – week #9

Welcome and thank you for joining me on this year’s project of taking/posting photos every day.

The weather this week went from warm enough to melt almost all the snow, to a new, pretty snowfall. It is only a few weeks until spring and the days are getting longer; the sun is starting to give off some warmth. I’m sure there will be lots of changes in our near future.

Now onto this week’s photos:

February 25 – vanishing point; I love repeating patterns and I found this row of power-lines interesting. The triangular shape of the towers is what originally drew my eye, and then the way they disappear in the distance.

February 26 – wind damage; some of the winds of winter are pretty wild and cause damage. This oak branch was one of the victims of one such storm.

February 27 – frosty golden sunrise; I was just leaving for work and marvelled at the golden glow of the sunrise and noticed the sun sparkling off the frosty field. It begged for a closer look.

February 28 – snow is all gone; a beautiful and serene view…a lovely start to the day even though it is quite unusual for all the snow to have melted at this time of year, though I’m very sure that ‘old man winter’ isn’t finished with us yet!

February at a glance – another pretty month. I love the pop of red, right in the middle of the month!

March 1 – clear blue sky morning; another gorgeous morning view on my way to work; just a little flooding in the fields from the melting snow & rain.

March 2 – what a difference a day makes; I have been enjoying the spring-like weather, but know that winter is not finished for the season. We awoke to a very pretty snowy wonderland.

March 3 – sunset skyline; the view while doing some errands after work. This is an iconic view of Belleville’s skyline; the water-tower and one of the many churches on the appropriately named “Church Street”. The almost full moon and vapour trail from a passing airplane, just added to the composition; and as an added bonus, the sunset painted the scene a lovely rose-gold.
