March 2018 – week 12

Welcome and thank you for joining me on this year’s project of taking/posting photos every day.

The weather this week has been typical of March in this part of the country; springlike one day, and then snow the next and windy…very, very windy!

Now onto this week’s photos:

March 18 – lazy Sunday morning; sometimes it is necessary for a slow day…this was one of those days…my favourite mug, thinking of tropical holidays, and my favourite cuddly quilt, and a morning of chatting & day-dreaming with my hubby. Perfection!

March 19 – last of the ice; a trip to Sandbanks Provincial Park, at Lakeshore Lodge showing winter has lost its hold! I love the icicles hanging off that last chunk of ice!

March 20 – first day of spring; a calm lake, melting ice and lots of birds singing!

March 21 – tumbled ice; this is what happens when the lake ice is tossed repeatedly on the shore…a larger version of what happens to the rocks & sand. It was cool to be able to capture this…you can see the rocks in the water have a similar appearance, as do the rocks on the shore…a couple of days later, this was all gone.

March 22 – it even feels like spring; finally the temperatures have started to rise and the sun is showing some warmth. It feel so nice!

March 23 – in the shadow of the bridge; a glorious afternoon and I had to take a quick detour on my way home. There is still some ice in the cove, but most of the Bay of Quinte is water rather than ice now.

March 24 – spring reflections; another view of Sandbanks Park & Lakeshore Lodge; birds singing; squirrels scurrying…the world is waking up.
