April 2018 – week 15

Welcome and thank you for joining me on this year’s project of taking/posting photos every day.

The weather this week has been quite changeable; lots of frost, fog, rain and wind with a nasty storm system heading our way over the weekend. Fingers crossed it isn’t as bad as predicted.

Now onto this week’s photos:

April 8 – made a new friend; while on a photo walk, I met this gorgeous, friendly fellow. He came to greet me, gave me a sniff, then went back to whatever he had been doing…

April 9 – finally feels like spring; though in reality, it only lasted an hour or so when the rains returned. The best part is listening to all the birds that have returned and are making their nests and looking for food.

April 10 – sunrise through dried vines; another quick stop on my way to work…I like to stop, breathe in the fresh air, listen to the sounds of nature…it is lovely way to start my work day.

April 11 – fallen tree; this big tree fell last spring. Interestingly, it still lives and has now created another ecosystem for the water birds and fish population around the branches in the water at the side of the marsh.

April 12 – frost & fog; the wildly changing temperatures create these lovely images. I would have liked to spend more time taking photos, but work was calling.

April 13 – calm morning; a quick stop at Picton Harbour. So calm and serene this morning; difficult to imagine a wicked storm is approaching.

April 14 – waiting for the storm; taken at 6:30 am…so calm and quiet, but at the time of writing this post, the freezing rain has already started…
