April | May 2018 – week 18

Welcome and thank you for joining me on this year’s project of taking/posting photos every day.

…and just like that, we are into May. The weather was a mixed bag of sunshine & really warm days, mixed with high winds and some rain…so typical for this region at this time of the year.

Now onto this week’s photos:

April 29 – another grey day; I often take a few minutes to stop by the water on my way to work. It is calming. You never see the same view; the sky changes, the sunrise is always different, sometimes you see wildlife. This particular day was cool and very still and so pretty.

April 30 – a beautiful end to the crazy weather this April; another morning and another view. The slight overcast sky made for a soft, muted view this morning.

April At-a-Glance

April at a glance

May 1 – lilacs are coming along nicely; after a cold April and an ice storm only two weeks ago, it only took a couple of days for the sun to coax the lilac buds. You can actually see them leaning toward the sun’s rays here.

May 2 – evening view of the creek; the days are getting longer and the grass it getting greener.

May 3 – beautiful sky between rain storms; after driving through a steady rain, I was able to stop here for a few minutes before the next cloud burst.

May 4 – swan bathed in morning sunlight; this swan was having breakfast and was just floating around in the sunlight. I’m thrilled to see them nesting at my favourite wetland. I even thought I spied a second pair a little further down the marsh….just waiting to see if there will be a family to photograph soon.

May 5 – horses back in the pasture; a sure sign of spring is the group of horses back in the pasture on the way to work.
