June 2018 – week 23

Welcome and thank you for joining me on this year’s project of taking/posting photos every day.

The weather this week was un-remarkable – not too hot, not too cold & not too wet. Perfect, actually!

Now onto this week’s photos:

June 3 – breakfast; our purple martin family is back and they are very busy with feeding this year’s batch of new hatchlings. Here is an adult, coming in for a landing with breakfast. The cheeping and chattering is amazingly loud. They are very social birds with many differing calls to each other. They are an interesting pleasure to watch.

June 4 – foggy start to the day; this was the sight for the first half of my morning commute; then it changed to bright blue skies. If you look closely, you can just see another vehicle coming toward me. (Yes, I was parked on the side of the road, flashers on for safely and not driving.)

June 5 – daisies on both sides of the fence; also on my way to work in the morning. I love where I live, the lack of heavy traffic and sights like this on the roadside.

June 6 – iris detail; I love these flowers. They have so much detail – sparkly petals, fuzzy interior.

June 7 – roadside beauty; spring means flowers everywhere. They just appear, like magic.  Another batch of wild phlox at the roadside, somewhere along my daily commute.

June 8 – my backyard; the late afternoon sun in my backyard. Our creek is drying up, as it always does in the summertime. The wild flowers are blooming along the bank. The sun is streaming through the tree branches. My little piece of heaven.

June 9 – early morning light; enjoying the quiet on a Saturday morning; cup of coffee in hand, watching the movement of the early morning sunlight. This tall grass, gone to seed,  looked so pretty with the fleeting rays that only lasted for a moment. Happy to have captured it!
