Welcome and thank you for joining me on this year’s project of taking/posting photos every day.
This week’s weather can only be described as HOT! First heat wave of the summer with lots of sun and lots of humidity. The end of the week brought thunderstorms and slightly cooler temperatures. No complaints here though… I love summer time 😄
Now onto this week’s photos:
July 1 – Happy Canada Day! A gorgeous bloom on my geranium – red for Canada and it even looks a little like fireworks!
July 2 – afternoon light in my backyard; I love how the sun shines through our gazebo this time of year. I love how it feels like we live in a park too!
July 3 – Day Lilies; they look so pretty, I could decide on just one photo!

July 4 – hot days & cool beverages; luckily I have two sides to my deck, so we can always sit in the sun or shade as dictated by the weather – this week we were gravitating to the shady side of the house, for our late afternoon beverages.
July 5 – morning sun behind the milkweed; the view at the side of my driveway, just as I was leaving for work. This particular patch of milkweed is seeing lots of bees & butterfly visitors. I keep looking for Monarch butterfly eggs, but so far I haven’t seen any, though we are ever hopeful.
July 6 – rural views; a quick stop on my way to work this week. All the hay bales in front of a local farm made for a wonderful shot.
July 7 – evening sail; this was the view as I crossed the bridge on Friday night, on my way home from work. The sunlight in the sails caught my attention, so I quickly stopped at the park at the base of the bridge. Beautiful evening breezes – a perfect night on the Bay of Quinte.
I thank you for visiting. Feel free to join in on Instagram, #ciuan365 or #nothingisordinary or you can just follow me @BasildonKitchens.
Until next time, Connie 🙂
